Jovago, Africa’s leading hotelbooking website, in partnership with MTN has unleashed a Zero Rate App for all subscribers of one of the continent’s leading telecoms company to enablecustomers search for hotels and book hasslefree without data charges.
In order to reduce data costs and boost e-commerce in Nigeria, Jovago launched its free internet service with MTN.
With the provision, it means MTN won’t charge users of its mobile network for the data they consume while using the Jovago app.
This partnership with MTN, one of the biggest telecommunications player in Nigeria and Africa is quite the strategic partnership.
Commenting on the partnership, CEO of Jovago, Paul Midy said “This is a great milestone for us in order to offer great accessibility for the customer-centric mobile experience. We have noticed the immense growth of mobile internet penetration in Africa and remain focused on reaching clients across the world in order to offer them our services. Now, all MTN users can have access to more than 8 000 hotels in Nigeria and 25 000 hotels in Africa without cost and book in one click.”
The recent launch of the Jovago app on the Android platform was a positive step in the right direction and this next step with a key partner would boost value with the customer-base. A survey conducted by Jovago shows that more than 50 % of the booking are done through mobile devices.
