Robin van Persie has admitted that he is considering his future at Manchester United as he enters the final year of his Old Trafford contract. The Holland international has just finished the most unproductive Barclays Premier League season of the last five years, scoring just ten times during a campaign when he struggled for form and fitness under Louis van Gaal.
Van Persie admitted yesterday that he finds himself in a difficult situation but, would like to stay at United as much for the sake of his children as much as anything else. ‘I must evaluate the situation,’ said Van Persie. ‘The club is doing that as well. I must consider what I really want. If worse comes to the worst and I won’t be playing much next season I wouldn’t be in an ideal situation with Euro 2016 coming up [next summer] .
