Nigeria international Anthony Ujah has been one of the revelations of Werder Bremen during their pre – season training. A summer arrival from Cologne, the attacker notched ten goals during preparations, including a hat – trick in the 11 – 0 humiliation of MSV 1919 Neuruppinon.
And in Werder Bremen’s last pre – season fixture in London, the former Lillestrom hero put himself on the radar of English clubs with two well – taken first half goals against West Ham. The Hammers’ 19th minute lead proved short-lived, as a minute later Ujah’s effort from 25 yards went straight through Adrian.
Ujah struck again just after the halfhour mark when he took a neat touch away from James Tomkins in the penalty area and placed his shot across Adrian into the bottom right-hand corner.
“Great way to finish the pre season with a win and 2 goals against West Ham the season can begin. Ignoring the 2011 – 2012 campaign, his debut season in Germany, Anthony Ujah has ended each season with at least ten goals since his move to Europe from Warri Wolves.
