English Premier League side, Tottenham, have reportedly opened talks over a move to sign Nigeria’s 2015 FIFA Under-17 World Cup sensation, Victor Osimhen.
The teenager had scored nine goals for the Golden Eaglets prior to Sunday’s final against Mali at the cadet world championship.
Scouts from across Europe have been following his performances and Tottenham have stolen a march on their rivals having made contact with Osimhen’s representatives from Ultimate Strikers Academy in Nigeria.
It’s stated that Arsenal and Manchester City are also keeping tabs on Osinhem but are focusing their attention on his Golden Eaglets teammate Kelechi Nwakali, which could leave Spurs in the clear to lure Osinhem to White Hart Lane.
Osimhen, 16, is a tall gangly striker with good technique who can also play wide. He idolises former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba and is eager to follow in his footsteps by becoming a success in the Premier League.
Tottenham’s contact with Osim-dehen’s representatives comes few days after reports that an unnamed club in the EPL was ready to lure the youngster with one million pounds sterling.
“An un-named EPL side are willing to splash the cash for Osimhen. They want to start the bidding from a million pounds,” a top source familiar with this interest disclosed.
