Paul Pogba has his sights set on the Champions League final after making his return from injury at the weekend just in time to be considered for the second leg of Juventus’ Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid this Wednesday.
Pogba lasted 63 minutes of Juve’s 1-1 draw with Cagliari on Saturday having spent 52 days out with a thigh injury he picked up during Juve’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.
“It would be magnificent to reach the final,” Pogba said in an interview on Juve’s YouTube channel.
“I always said that we wanted to go as far as possible and if we could reach the final, it would be fantastic Although Pogba admitted to not being 100 percent fit and able to last the full 90 minutes, he is ready to play some part in Madrid.
“I’m happy with my performance and with my condition during the game,” he said. “I felt good. I ran a lot and didn’t feel anything so we’re on the right path. I’m always ready.”
