Obafemi Can’t Stop Scoring For Sounders

Former Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins scored twice as Seattle Sounders beat New York City FC 3-1 in a MLS match. New York FC, struggling for form couldn’t get a win, as Obafemi Martins brace and a goal from Clint Dempsey ensured that their poor run continues.

In the 23rd minute Martins raced through on goal before he slot calmly beyond the New York goalkeeper to give Sounders the lead but New York responded almost immediately with two attempts that went so close with both Pablo Alvarez and Jeb Brovsky narrowly missing the target from close range.

Former Barcelona forward David Villa, who had missed the last two games due to injury, came on for New York FC but that inclusion didn’t make much impact as Clint Dempsey increased Sounders lead in the 58th minute.
