Apparently uncomfortable with the underdog tag attached to Nigeria in Group D of the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada, Asisat Oshoala has said the highly rated teams would have earn their ratings.
Nigeria are nestled in the same group as the United States, Sweden and Australia.
“We are in a tough group, but I think it’s going to be a good outing for us,” said the Super Falcons striker. “I don’t think there is ever a ‘cheap’ team in the World Cup.
“For a team to qualify they have to be a very good side. In 2011 we didn’t qualify out of the group so it would be nice to achieve that, but I’m not going to say we just want to reach the knockout stages because the aim of every team is to win the trophy.”
