NNL: Osho Rues Crown FC Loss To ABS FC

Fatai Osho, chief coach of Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso, says his players’ inability to live up to expectations against hosts ABS FC on Monday in Ilorin was lamentable.

Speaking after the team’s week one match in the 2015/2016 Nigeria National League (NNL), Osho lamented the fact that his players performed below expectations.

“It was sad we lost, because we prepared very well for the game, better than the result we got.

“We did not play to our full potential today (Monday), and that was sad,’’ he said.

The coach however promised to address the situation, saying “we will go back to reassess ourselves and adjust where necessary.’’

He was nonetheless full of praises for his opponents, saying they were a very good side.

Also reacting after the match played at the Kwara Stadium Complex in Ilorin, coach Henry Makinwa said ABS FC had a wonderful day and the better side won the game.

“My boys were fantastic and really played well. We are trying to blend the boys with a new modern style and they adjusted well to it.

“But, we will get better game by game,’’ he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that ABS FC had on Monday defeated Crown FC of Ogbomosho 1-0.

The keenly-contested match saw both sides trying to outsmart each other, but they both held on well to end the first half goalless.

ABS FC came out stronger in the second half, and they scored the only goal of the game eight minutes into the half.

A sweeping move into the visitors penalty area saw Ebuka Anaekwe’s shot parried by the goalkeeper, but Abdullahi Ibrahim was on hand to push in the rebound.

Crown FC fought very hard to equalize, but ABS FC were resilient and gallantly stood out to defend their lead.
