Nasarawa United Say They Have Resumed Training Ahead Of 2016 CAF Champions League NAN-S-3

Nasarawa United Football Club of Lafia yesterday said they had begun preparations for the 2016 CAF Champions League and the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The club’s Chairman, Isaac Danladi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the preparations started with training exercise for the players yesterday.
Danladi said the club’s success by securing a continental competition ticket at the end of the 2014/2015 NPFL season had served as a motivation to the players and coaching crew.
He however told NAN that the team’s playing personnel would be beefed up to achieve their desire next year.
“Our team has done well. But right now we are almost perfect, and we won’t be making many changes. However, we will beef up the team based on the coach’s discretion.
“We have a capable coach who understands the players, and the players understand him too, and this is important in any team.
“We have to prepare hard for our continental engagements. We don’t want to be knocked out in the preliminary rounds of our continental competition,’’ Danladi said.
While acknowledging that most of their players were yet to arrive in the club’s camp, the club chairman said they were being expected in camp before the end of Tuesday.
NAN reports that Nasarawa United finished in third place in the 2014/2015 Glo Premier League, after obtaining 63 points from 38 matches played.
Danladi said the club’s management was committed to ensuring that the team surpassed its previous achievement in the upcoming Glo Premier League season.
“Being among the first three in 2014/2015 will encourage us as a team, and motivating our players to give us their utmost best is important at this point in time.
“We need to build on the momentum gathered by the end of last season,’’ he said. (NAN)
