Musa Dedicates Brace To Baby Girl

Striker, Ahmed Musa says his newly born girl gave him the luck to score a brace and qualify his Russian club, CSKA Moscow, for the UEFA Champions League playoffs.

On Wednesday, CSKA beat hosts Sparta Prague 3-2 to advance in the Champions League playoffs 5-4 on aggregate with Musa scoring twice in Prague. Ladislav Krejci put the hosts ahead in the sixth minute before Kehinde Fatai added the second for Sparta ten minutes later.

With the odds against CSKA to   progress, Musa was on ground to reduce the deficit in the 34th minute as he put his team back on level terms six minutes after the restart of the second half before Alan Dzagoev sealed the win for the Russians. Musa’s brace was scored just hours after his wife gave birth to baby girl in Moscow.

“I am happy with the goals and victory. It was a hard earned victory,” he said. “I dedicate the goals to my wife and daughter. “They brought me joy and good luck in the game.” CSKA Moscow will know their playoff foes today when the draw will be staged.
