Keshi Rubbished Nigeria –Amodu

Head, Technical Directorate of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Shuaibu Amodu, has given a damning verdict on the circumstance surrounding the exit of Stephen Keshi from the Super Eagles coaching job, saying the ex-Nigeria captain rubbished the country.

Amodu, put in charge of the Eagles pending the appointment of a new substantive coach, said perhaps Keshi would have bowed out in loud ovation if he had heeded his counsel after the 2013 African Cup of Nations. “You can’t have a contract with a federation and at the same time seeking the same job with another federation, it’s not done,” said Amodu. “He was rubbishing us in the eyes of the world.”

Coaching Nigeria, Amodu said, is not the exclusive preserve of anybody, “you are there today, another person is there tomorrow; some of us have come in and gone out many times. “He should have resigned his appointment after winning the Nations Cup with the team in South Africa, because it was obvious then that he was not on the same page with the then leadership of the NFF.”
