Keshi Demands ‘Total Focus’ From Eagles

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, has charged players invited for preparation ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad to report to camp fully concentrating on the task at hand.

Keshi had last week called up 26 players from the Nigeria Professional League (NPFL) with a view of having them report to camp on May 19.

However, the scheduling of a full round of league matches for May 20 had ensured a shift in the date of camp resumption. Keshi, it was learnt, had allowed the home-based players to feature for their respective clubs in yesterday’s round of NPFL fixtures so as to avoid any unnecessary distractions.

“We decided to allow the players to feature for their clubs in the midweek games, so that they will know that once they report to camp, they will not be going anywhere again.

“It is important that they come to camp and concentrate. We don’t want distractions, especially with the team scheduled to play a number of friendly matches in the weeks to come before the qualifier against Chad,” he said.
