Retired Nigeria international, Nwankwo Kanu, says the Super Eagles will surprise the world at the 2017 Nations Cup. He is already looking beyond the qualification stage, which has pitched Nigeria against Egypt, and declared that Nigeria will bounce back to top reckoning soon and in style.

“I see light at the end of the tunnel at last, since the administrators have decided to do the needful by employing   a coach for the team, I believe the team will surprise bookmakers at the 2017 Nations Cup.

“In life there are ups and downs. The last few months we have faced serious trying times in our football. But right now that is in the past.

“There has been no time I have lost confidence in the Eagles. The Eagles will bounce back better than ever,” Kanu said.

Nigeria are now ranked a disappointing 45th in the world by FIFA. The former African champions were without a coach for over seven months and were bedeviled with a major instability in the management of the game at home.

However, former Arsenal, Ajax and Inter Milan star, Kanu, has now said all that is in the past and the country will soon be back in forefront of the game.

“Now is time for all the stake holders and the NFF to ensure that we rally round the team and help them succeed as the Afcon qualifiers gets underway next month.
