Nigeria international, Odion Ighalo has been impressed by Watford’s summer recruitment but has warned his team-mates that they must keep working hard. He bagged his sixth goal in four seapre- season matches for the Hornets, who rounded off their German trip with a 2-0 win over Paderborn on Sunday.
New signings Valon Behrami and Allan Nyom both started and caught the eye as Watford put in a composed and thoroughly convincing display against the 2.Bundesliga side – who beat Bolton 4-1 last week. Ighalo was suitably impressed with the newest additions to Quique Sanchez Flores’ ranks and is looking forward to potentially more new faces arriving before the season opener against Everton on August 8.
“So far they the club have brought in good players: (Etienne) Capoue, (Valon) Behrami and Holebas,” he said. “They have been great, working hard together and we can see today what they have put into the team. With the rest of us I think we have a good team but we still need to keep working hard to make sure we are ready to go for the season.”
