Odion Ighalo has described his first goal as the beginning of a remarkable season for him and Watford in the English Premier League this season.
Ighalo was a 74th minute substitute for the newly promoted club in Saturday’s game and he shot his side ahead at the Goodison Park, home ground of Everton barely nine minutes into his introduction in place of Jose Manuel Jurado.
“I am paid to score goals and I can’t really explain how amazing it was when the ball crossed the line. I have scored my first EPL goal and I am hoping to get some more,” Ighalo told Goal.
“I already said that Watford would start the season impressively and that was exactly what we have done at Everton.
We won’t be carried away by this result because we are well aware that we have only started a very long journey.”
