West Brom have made Salomon Rondon their best-paid player after the £15m striker agreed personal terms on a five-year deal, relegating Nigerian, Brown Ideye to the second position. Rondon is ready to join Tony Pulis’s squad from Zenit St Petersburg after passing a medical over the weekend.
The 25-year-old will become the club’s record signing and earn £50,000-a-week during his time at The Hawthorns.
Rondon was at Albion’s training ground on Friday and initial reports claim he does not speak much English but understands the basics. West Brom are likely to part with either Victor Anichebe or Brown Ideye once Rondon’s international clearance comes in.
