IAAF Sets Terms For Russia Return

Russia is to co-operate with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in order to make its national anti-doping agency (RUSADA) compliant once more while the athletics governing body IAAF on Thursday set out provisional terms for the country to have its suspension lifted.

“We are saddened by the WADA decisions but respect them,” Mutko was quoted as saying by the TASS agency. “We are ready to immediately start the implementation of the WADA foundation board decisions.

On Thursday the IAAF set out five principles Russia would have to meet in order to be able to compete again. These include “establishing an effective and operational anti-doping framework in Russia” and bans being given to athletes, coaches or officials who have committed anti-doping rule violations.
