Pep Guardiola has dismissed reports that Juventus are set to sign Mario Gotze, declaring that the attacker will still be at Bayern Munich come the close of the transfer window.
Gotze signed a four-year contract when he joined the Bavarians from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund for €37 million in 2013 but the Germany international has struggled for regular game time at the Allianz Arena.
Guardiola, though, says that the 23-year-old is going nowhere, insisting he still holds the versatile forward in the highest esteem. “He’s a top player, one of my team’s players,” he told reporters on Sunday. “In my mind, he will be available throughout the season which is about to start.”
