Egypt is that football fans are allowed to attend Egypt’s match at home against Chad for their upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
According to media reports in Egypt, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has received the green light by authorities on Wednesday to allow fans to attend the Pharaohs qualifier en route to Russia.
The announcement comes after football fans have been mainly banned in Egypt since February 2012 when 72 Ahly fans died in the Port Said Stadium disaster.
“The Interior ministry agreed to allow 25,000 supporters to attend Egypt’s tie against Chad from the stands,” the EFA announced in a statement on its official website.
“There will be a meeting with the ministry officials next week to discuss the mechanism of the fans’ entrance to the stadium.”
