Falcons Won’t Disappoint Nigeria –Captain

Overwhelmed by joy at seeing the arrangements made by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to ensure the Super Falcons excel at this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, captain of the side Evelyn Nwabuoku has said the team would not let the nation down.

The Falcons, who face the United States, Sweden and Australia in the first round of the World Cup in Canada, have since arrived Toronto where they are putting finishing touches to their preparations for the tournament. Nwabuoku said the Falcons will compensate for efforts made by the NFF by putting up a superlative performance.

“From the day I joined the team from my base everything is going on fine as planned,” said Nwabuoku. “I want to on behalf of my team thank the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for keeping to their promises. “We are really grateful and we want to promise that we will not let them down as we hope for a good outing. “Since we came here, the training sessions have been going on well and we have not missed any training because of the proper organization of everything.

“We also need the support and prayers of Nigerians to spur us to do more.” Super Falcons have continued with their training sessions since arriving Toronto for their training tour, as they continue to adapt to the climate in Canada.
