Angel Di Maria is set to make his Paris Saint-Germain debut in Sunday’s Ligue 1 clash at Monaco. Di Maria, 27, has been working his way back to full fitness since suffering a thigh injury during the Copa America in June.
That setback means he has yet to feature for the Ligue 1 champions — also set to welcome back Zlatan Ibrahimovic from injury — since joining from Manchester United earlier this month.
Ibrahimovic, 33, twisted his right knee in the Trophee des Champions win over Lyon at the start of the month and has missed PSG’s three league games this season.
Coach Laurent Blanc told a news conference the two players were “proving to me that they have got back to their best form.” He added: “They’re lacking competition a little and we’re going to have to be patient, but they have to be thrown in at some time and I think Monaco will be the ideal place.”
