Petr Cech is excited at the challenge of helping bring success to Arsenal after sealing his move from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee.
The 33-year-old Czech Republic international goalkeeper has penned a long-term deal at the Emirates Stadium to end an 11-year spell with London rivals Chelsea who he joined from French side Rennes in 2004 and made over 400 appearances for.
Cech passed a medical with the Gunners over the weekend and has now tied up the loose ends of the transfer, which is thought to have cost around £11million, and he is now fully focused on a new chapter in his career.
He told the Arsenal website: “I’m really excited about joining Arsenal Football Club and can’t wait to join up for pre-season. “I have the same commitment to football, the same motivation and the same hunger for success as I had at the beginning of my career, and I love the challenges brought by the top quality players you face while playing in the Premier League. “
