The crises rocking Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) over suspension of Senator Shehu Sani has taking a new turn as the national leadership of the party has cautioned the state chapter for its refusal to heed the position of the zonal leadership of the party which voided the alleged suspension of Senator Shehu Sani from the party.
Acting National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Comrade Timi Frank, cautioned on the consequences of what he described as “insubordination” in a statement issued in Abuja.
The National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the party, Barrister Inuwa Abdulkadir, had after meeting with party stakeholders in Kaduna State last Monday, lifted the suspension of Sani, a move which did not go down well with the state chapter which insisted that the Senator’s suspension remained stand.
Kaduna State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Salisu Tanko Wusono, had faulted the lifting of the suspension by Abdulkadir, saying the zonal vice chairman acted without the consent of the national leadership of the party, contrary to Section 21 of the APC constitution.
A statement signed by the acting National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Comrade Timi Frank, in Abuja, cautioned the state chapter of making further utterances bothering on Sani’s suspension, adding that the decision of the zonal chairman is in consonance with the position of the party’s national body and subsisted.
He cautioned the state chapter of the party to desist forthwith further acts which tend to embarrass the party, as just as he reminded the chapter of party supremacy and loyalty.
“The position taken by the northwest vice chairman, Inuwa Abdulkadir subsists, and has the backing of the national body. It is pertinent that all party stakeholders and members take note of this and submit to the will of the party no matter their interests in the matter”, it maintained.
“Rather than continue to sow seeds of discord, we must endeavour to bolster party unity and cohesion. All hands must be on deck to achieve this and not continue to acts in ways that only expose us to the opposition parties and manipulations of a few”, Timi Frank said.
