Immediate past Chairman Board of Directors of the Nigeria Television Authority, Hon. Patrick Ogbu has said the people of Benue South Senatorial District popularly known as zone C in the state will never betray Senator David Mark in the re-run seantorial election.
In an interview with THE UNION yesterday in Makurdi, Mr. Ogbu said Senator Mark remains the political leader of the Idoma people and they cannot afford to throw back his benevolence.
He urged the zone c people not to allow external forces to destroyed them, but work hard to protect their integrity.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), that conducted the election faulted the decision of the court and insisted that all the results from the nine local government areas that make up the senatorial district were collated before winner of the election was announced.”
He said the political leaders in the area interested in decamping to the ruling party were free to do so but the people have all accepted to vote only Sen. Mark considering his achievement and experience he has recorded the past sixteen years.
“Some people don’t like staying in opposition, but what I want you to understand is ‘the people of Zone C voted for Sen. Mark and are ready to do same in the re-run election.”
“You see people are becoming wiser now, they no long vote for political party but they vote for personalities, they know who will deliver and given Sen. Mark’s achievements, the people cannot afford but vote him again and again if he contest the election,” he noted.
According to him, Nigerians all over the nation were beginning to see the mistakes of the All Progressive Congress (APC), and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will capitalise on their mistakes and will fully bounce back by 2019.
