Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), Tuesday, explained that the disruption of water supply in parts of the state was due to shortage of gas at its Independent Power Plant (IPP) at Akute Intake, and other water power plants.
It said the gas shortage was as a result of vandalization of gas pipelines in the Niger Delta region by militants.
The corporation, in a statement made available to The UNION, also appealed to the general public, for patience, over the discomfort and inconveniences caused by the scarcity.
The statement noted that the shortage of gas has adversely affected production at its various water facilities across the state, but assured that it is currently working relentlessly on an alternative power supply for its waterworks.
The statement therefore assured the public of the Corporation’s commitment to providing uninterrupted water supply soon and urged them to bear with her as the problem will soon be rectified.
