Wada Charges Monarch To Complement Govt Efforts


The ancient town of Kabba, Headquarters of Kabba- Bunu Local Government Area of the state was over the week­end thrown into frenzy of cel­ebrations as the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Michael Folorunsho Olobayo marked his 70th years birthday and 30 years anniver­sary of ascending to the throne of his forefathers.

Governor Idris Wada while speaking at the occasion charged traditional rulers in the state to complement govern­ment’s efforts on its war against insecurity that has continue to cause havoc on the lives of the innocent citizens.

The governor who was rep­resented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi maintained that the royal fathers as grassroot lead­ers in the society, have a key role to play in ensuring peace and security in their various do­mains.

Wada also urged the tradition­al rulers not to relent in mobi­lizing for unity and progress of their communities.

He gave the assurance that his administration will continue to accord the welfare of the royal fathers the desired attention.

The governor congratulated the Obaro of Kabba on the suc­cesses so far recorded through­out his 30years of reign and wished him well in the years ahead.

The weeklong ceremony which drew many personalities to the historic town was capped with a thanks giving service held On Sunday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kabba.

Delivering his sermon at the thanks giving service, the Bish­op of Lokoja diocese, Bishop Martins Olorunmolu glorified God for granting the Obaro the privilege to attain 70 years of age and for granting him 30 years of peaceful reign.
