. . .Says, Aregbesola Detests Criticism
A human rights activist and Chairman, Civil Societies Coalition for Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS), Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman, has frowned at the incessant attacks on the members of the opposition allegedly perpetrated by Rauf Aregbesola’s government across the state in recent times, saying that the attacks have showed that Aregbesola detested constructive criticisms against his government.
Reacting to the various attacks by some political thugs against the members of the opposition, who opposed the state government anti-masses policies in statement, which a copy was made available to The Union in Osogbo, Sulaiman noted that there could not be good governance without viable opposition.
The rights activist who doubles as the Executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) urged the security agents in the state to fish out those behind the sponsor of recent political thuggery without fear or favour.
He also called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase to constitute an independent panel of enquiry from the force headquarters, Abuja, to investigate the remote cause of the series of recent attacks against the members of anti-Aregbesola groups and bring the culprits and their sponsors to book, insisting that they would not allow anybody, no matter how highly placed in the society to take the country back to the dark days of military era.
His words: “It has shown that Mr. Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola has begun his second term government with impunity against the people of the state and we should strive hard to put stop to this satanic government. We are using this medium to call on lovers of democracy to join hands together with the progressive minded Nigerians to put stop to the present tyrannical government of Aregbesola.
