Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi affirms readiness to partner the Association of Accountants of Nigeria.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has affirmed the readiness of his administration to partner the Association of Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) to entrench openness and transparency in the financial administration of the state.

The governor in an address when he received in audience the executive members of the association, Enugu state chapter noted that members of the association constitute 95% of the professional accountants in the civil and public service of the state.

The governor enumerated some of their members in the state service as the Accountant General, the Auditor General of the State Local Governments and a number of Permanent Secretaries and Directors of Finance in the state. According to the governor, with such a strong presence in the bureaucratic structure of the state, members of the association have a key role to play in the effective implementation of the fiscal and other policies of government designed to improve the lot of the people. In his words, “I wish to assure you of the readiness of government to partner with the association towards the achievement of its objectives more especially those of them that would be of benefit to the people of Enugu State.”

Earlier in an address the state chairman of the association, Princess Roseline Egbo informed the governor that their members constitute over 90% of Public Sector Professional Accountants in Nigeria and in Enugu State.

She affirmed the readiness of the association to identify with Governor Ugwuany’s administration having been following the governor’s aggressive infrastructural development of the state within so short a time of his administration. In her words, “we wish to be identified with your government by working closely with you and by offering our services as professional accountants, having been part of the team that has been responsible for the prompt rendition of annual final accounts of the state.
