The Speaker, House of Representatives and governor elect of Sokoto state , Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal has charged politicians especially those who won the just concluded general elections to concentrate on programmes that will provide dividend of democracy to the electorate rather than trying to find out who and who was supported him during politiking.
Tambuwal said that the electorates who avoted them to power did so because they want to dividend of democracy and good governance stressing that Nigerians has been faced with bad administration.
The speaker, stated this in Yola weekend when he paid courtesy call on governor Bala Ngillari stressing that upon assumption of office, the issue of politicking should be over and that everybody should carry along regardless of their political parties, and religious affiliations .
He charged leaders to be honest and be committed to their mandate, “ l advising you to always consult properly with the people to know exactly what their yearnings are” “We are done with politicking and now is time for governance. “What Nigerians are yearning for is good governance and that is why they have elected us Tambuwal said.
“I am calling on those who emerged victorious at the last polls to face governance and stop politicking. “They should be honest and dedicated to the mandate which the people gave to them.
“They should always consult with the public to avoid unnecessary conflict, ’’ he emphasised The speaker who was on his private visit to thank the Lamido Adamawa for bestowing him with the traditional title of `Wakilin Raya Hasan Adamawa’.
Responding , Nggilari commended the speaker for piloting the affairs of the House without rancor saying Nigerians should remain grateful to the speaker for his contributions towards democratic governance in Nigeria.
