St. Leo’s Catholic Private School, Ikeja, is set to honour a cleaner at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Mrs Josephine Ugwu; a renowned former Nigerian athlete, Mrs Chioma Ajunwa-Opara; and a popular musician who is also an old boy of the school and son of Lagos lawyer, Femi Falana, Folarin Falz. It will be recalled that Mrs Ugwu returned millions of Naira she picked up at the airport to the owner a few months ago.
In a statement today, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Barrister Remigius Nwadike, noted that the award is part of activities marking the Annual Graduation and Prize-Giving Ceremony of the school coming up on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th July 2016. Some other persons outside the school will be given awards. The two-day event will feature on 12th July, Valedictory Mass @9am in St. Leo’s Catholic Church, followed by Red Carpet, Graduation, Talks and Award giving to deserving graduands and personalities inside Alfred Adewale Martins Hall of St. Leo’s Church, Ikeja.
This year’s event will be unique as the Chief Host will be His Grace, Alfred Adewale Martins, the Catholic Archbishop of the Metropolitan see of Lagos while the Chairman of the occasion will be Engr.Olawumi Gasper, the Executive Secretary, Lagos State Vocational and Technical Education Board. The event of 13th which will hold in the school compound will feature Award to other deserving Learners and Staff, Beauty pageant and a lot of fun.
