S’East, S’South Business Communities Urged To Embrace Enterpreneurship Skills

Individuals engaging in trading and other business services have been urged to avail themselves of opportunities being provided by the government and non government organisations to get acquainted with modern technologically driven principles of growing their businesses.

They were also advised to find time to participate in various trainings being handled through consultancy services to improve their hitherto known methods of conducting business.

Giving the advice while speaking on the need to adhere to evolving principles of conducting business for better profit and development, a management consultant and chief executive of Wealthlink Training Institute, Mr. Henry Awuregu, said with the turn of events in socio-economic development of many nations and fast growing use of computers for business and achievement of set goals, Nigeria and her business society will benefit so much with opportunities emanating from government policy directions in using the information communication technology (ICT) to conduct business.

Awuregu noted that it was to contribute towards repositioning South-east and South-south business communities towards the realisation of these goals that made his organisation to embark on sensitisation workshops in major towns in some of the States, including Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Rivers, to get those engaged in daily sale of goods and providers of service in position towards rendering prompt delivery services to the people and making more profit where necessary.

He stressed that one major problem facing many businessmen and women in the zone was the belief that those engaging in trading especially buying and selling of goods needed no further education after getting the basic cash needs for stocking their shops with the goods they want to be selling emphasising that while it was true in the past for one to open his shop and begin to sell whatever goods he had i stock to those that needed them, the new trend brought about by evolving world market standards, means that people engaged in businesses now need to undergo training to acquire certain professional skills that will help sustain their business enterpreneurship.

The training consultant said his organisation was organising training in Aba to assist traders and service providers in areas of enterpreneurship, leadership and mentorship to help such persons do more in increased cashflow with less resources in harnessing multi-million opportunities and from there enhance societal growth and development through their contributions.

He said the opportunity will give youths various avenues of becoming skilled in marketing and other professional vocations that will assist them in becoming self-employed after graduation instead of going about seeking for non existent jobs and getting frustrated and becoming restless when such was not forthcoming.

In his remark, a prominent royal father and businessman in Aba, Eze Nzenwaka Mbakwe, commended Awuregu and his team for fashioning out a programme to support government efforts in providing specialized training programmes for those engaged in various vocations to sharpen their skills and get acquainted with evolving trends in business operations and management.

He urged the people of the Southeast and South-south States to avail themselves of opportunities brought about by the programme to become skilled in whatever professions they have chosen as careers in order to help societal growth and development as well as conducive environment for one another.
