The former Governor of Kwara State and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator-elect for Kwara Central Senatorial District, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has congratulated Governor Godswill Akpabio, on his election as the Senator-elect for Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District.
According to the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, Saraki’s accolades to Akpabio were conveyed in an official communication Saraki and Akpabio.
In it, Senator Saraki observed that the election of Chief Akpabio as Senator “is not only an endorsement of your leadership standing and readiness to serve the nation selflessly, but also confirms that God in his infinite mercy has found you worthy for this leadership role.”
Noting that Nigeria, at this important juncture of her national life, “needs men and women of will and ability to walk across party divides to meet the challenges of our dear country.”
Therefore, he expressed the desire to have members of the National Assembly “work together irrespective of party affiliations to raise the bar of good governance, stimulate economic and political reforms and ultimately entrench the rule of law.”
This, he said could be achieved “using well-articulated instruments for the benefit of our people across all regions of the country Expressing confidence that the competences and abilities of Chief Akpabio will be invaluable to the New Senate, Senator Saraki said it was his pleasure to join Nigerians of all walks of life and well wishers in congratulating the Senator-elect on his success at the polls.
