Police Command Parades 19 Criminal Suspects

The Kogi State Police Command has called for collaboration from government and public individuals in its efforts to rid the state of criminality.

The state commissioner of police, Emmanuel Ojukwu made the call while parading 19 criminal suspects in Lokoja, the state capital yesterday.

The commissioner who was represented by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer( PPRO), Williams Aya in parading the suspects said the combat of crimes in any given society could easily be realized through joint partnership between government, individuals and the police.

According to the police commissioner “the society could play its significant role of curbing the alarming rate of crimes ravaging the state by giving useful information that will assist the police to trap down criminal elements at all times”.

Ojukwu gave an assurance that the command will not relent in its desire to continue to give its officers’ welfare a topmost priority.

He also promised dedicated police officers in the pursuit of eradicating crimes in the state of handsome reward as compensation for their hard work and a motivation for others to emulate.

The offences of the suspected criminals who were arrested by the police includes, armed robbery, kidnapping, possession of currency suspected to be counter- feit, criminal conspiracy and disturbance of public peace.

The worst hit of the robbery attack according to the police commissioner is between Itobe and Anyigba Highway linking the eastern part of the country while items recovered by the police in the process includes, locally made pistols, cutlasses, two Tchno and two Nokia Handsets, one woman hand wearon cap, five live catridges, one navy Blue Mask and some criminal charms.
