PDP: Wukari Ward Congress, Hitch Free –TC Chairman

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Wards’ Congress for Wukari local government area of Taraba State was conducted peacefully.

Our Reporter, who monitored the Congress, held over the weekend reports that the exercise which could have taken place at various Wards of the local government was held at the Local Government Lodge, Ibi road, due to insecurity confronting some parts of the area.

According to our Correspondent, the Congress was witnessed by party members and supporters from various wards of the local government.

Commenting on the conduct of the Wards’ Congress, the Caretaker Chairman, Wukari Local Government, Hon. Daniel Angyu who described the exercise as ‘hitch free’ commended the Delegates for showing high level of maturity and for conducting themselves in an orderly manner throughout the exercise.

“We are thanking our people because of their understanding and their reasoning due to the problems we suffered in the past. So, we invited them, spoke to them and by the grace of God, they reasoned with us and we were able to have a unanimous view. That is why everything went smoothly”, he said.

Daniel Angyu also added that the peaceful conduct of the Congress attributed to proper coordination and awareness created by party leadership across the local government and urged them to maintain the tempo.

The CTC chairman further called on the new executives of the party at the ward level to embrace and carry everybody along, emphasizing that PDP in future elections of local government, states and federal would be strengthened to carry the day.

Also speaking, the Taraba State Commissioner, Ministry of Finance, Hon. (Dr.) Jessy Ashumate Adi who described the exercise as very successful however, enjoined the new leadership of PDP at the ward level to embrace and involve all and sundry in scheme of things.

“My message is that everybody should be embraced, PDP is a party we want to build, everybody needs to be carried along, there should be no discrimination, we want new members to come in and fill the party so that we can strengthen ourselves and take over the government in 2019, we’ll take over the presidency of this country, so that we give good and qualitative leadership to Nigerians”, he said.
