—–Pledges Support to Tinubu
A social-political group, Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation (AGF) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to remember the promise he made to the youths during his electioneering campaign, saying this is the time to fulfill the promise.
Specifically, the group demanded that Buhari should appoint a youth to head the Ministry of Youth Development.
National Chairman of the group, Ganiyu Shittu, stated this in Osogbo, Osun State capital, during a South-West general meeting, held in the state.
Addressing the participants who cut across the six states in south west of the country, Shittu said, “we’ve written several letters to the president to appoint a youth as Minister of Youth Development because he knew the role of youths in the last elections.
He then commended the president for the ministerial list he submitted to the Senate, describing the list as “accurate and proper.”
The AGF coordinator who commended the members of the foundation for the vital roles they played in ensuring that President Muhammadu Buhari emerged victorious in the last general elections, stressed the need for them to remain united as this was part of the cardinal reasons to convene the meeting.
He however announced the termination of the appointment of Com Saheed Afonja as the National Coordinator of AGF over alleged misappropriation, saying the atrocities Afonja committed would have dragged the good image of the organisation into a mud if not of the proactiveness of new executives.
In his remark, the National Publicity Secretary of the Foundation, Comrade Adebayo Adeboye, described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a major principal in the project of change, warning the opposition against disrupting the peace of the country.
He condemned media report on the allege rift between Tinubu and the president, saying “why would a person that used almost his life to ensure the success of present administration now begins to plot against it?
He however urged the people to continue praying for the president and support his efforts to fight corruption in the country.
Also, the General Secretary of the group, Comrade Adeleye Akintola, urged the youth to uphold the principle of loyalty established by Asiwaju Tinubu.
He stressed that the principle and ideology of Tinubu is worthy of emulation, noting that he has always been in support of youth development.
“People like Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Abike Dabiri, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Hon Kuforiji, Dr Kayode Fayemi are those Asiwaju brought to the limelight of politics and this was enough to celebrate him when he is alive.
