Osun CAN Demand Return Of Mission Schools

Yetunde Oladejo, Osogbo

Osun state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Wednesday, held a joint prayer rally over the court ruling on hijab.

The prayer rally, which was attended by over 200 pastors and thousands of Christians across all denominations in the 30 Local Government Areas of the state, was held at Dominion Hall of Osun Baptist Conference, Gbodofon, Osogbo.

Meanwhile, Baptist High School, Iwo, where the students went to school with church garment and choir robe on Tuesday, was combed by security operative Wednesday.

Our correspondent learnt that Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adewale Akanbi waded into the matter to settle the crisis amicably.

The prayer tagged “Where Are The Gideons Of Our Time” was led by the State CAN Chairman, Reverend Dr. Elisha Ogundiya and his deputy, Pastor Moses Adedeji Ogundeji.

The CAN chairman explained that the purpose of the prayer was to seek the face of God on the court ruling on hijab and other Islamization plot in the state.

The prayer according to the cleric was also to pull down evil altars, to nullify anti kingdom laws as well as deal with satanic forces that have been tormenting the state for the past few weeks.

They also prayed for the legal team who were handling the case, God’s financial provision and raising new generation Gideons.

Pastor Ogundeji however cautioned the state government not to carry out its threat of expelling any pupil or students of Christian mission established public schools saying if it goes ahead with it all the students in public schools would be sent packing.

He also described the presence of security personnel around the prayer venue as an embarrassment.

He noted that the prayer will deliver the state from the power of satanic forces and oppressors, adding that all powers that set to destroy Osun State would be destroyed by God.

“The country has no rest from the hands of Boko Haram, Niger Delta avengers, Bororo herdsmen. Therefore, let there be peace in Osun and let the state be free from the shackles of evil and oppression.”
