Niger Assembly Directs Bello To Sack Aide


Members of the Niger State House of Assembly have unanimously passed a resolu­tion directing Governor Abuba-

kar Sani Bello to immediately sack his Chief Press Secretary Ibrahim Dooba over gross dis­respect to the legislative arm as well as making unguarded utter­ances at the floor of the house, saying he is incompetence.

The Lawmakers made their stand known yesterday in Min­na after some National Dailies not The UNION published a story on Monday which was credited to Dooba in which he alleged that Bello had submit­ted 15 commissioner nominees to the House of Assembly for confirmation whereas the letter had not reach the lawmakers..

Speaking under matter of urgent public importance by Hon. Abdulmalik Kabir (Paikoro, APC) moved a mo­tion that the image of the state is at stake and therefore moved that the CPS be remove by the governor and seconded by Hon. Muhammed Lokogoma (Wushishi, APC)

He said, “the Leadership and Blueprint newspapers of Oct. 26, 2015 reported that His Ex­cellency Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has submitted 15 com­missioner nominees to the Ni­ger State House of Assembly for confirmation, adding that, the CPS went further to tell the journalists that the names had been sent to the Niger State House of Assembly and the Leadership of the House would unveil it on Tuesday during its plenary session.

According to him,”uptil this moment, the Niger State House of Assemblyls yet to re­ceive the list of commissioner nominees from the Governor, stressing that, “it is disappoint­ing that a person of the stand­ing of the CPS of the executive Governor could be unprofes­sional in the execution of his duties and assume a role that is not his,” Kabir added.

Furthermore, a member, Hon. Muhammed Nurudeen (Kontagora 1, APC), noted that the Assembly and the state as a whole has had enough of Dooba’s excesses\ which he said recently he went on air to tell the world that the Governor had removed caretaker chair­men, which was not so.

“We cannot fold our arms and allow him to ridicule the House and the government of APC, as such we must prevail on the Governor to replace him with someone more compe­tent,’ he said.
