Niger Delta Development Commission ( NDDC) has assured its preparedness to partner Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in his developmental projects in the state. Chairman, Governing Board of the Commission, Senator Bassey-Ewa Henshaw gave this assurance at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike yesterday when the governor commissioned a 630 capacity hostel built by the commission.
Ewa-Henshaw, who said that the commission is ready to do more, thanked the governor for his hospitality. The Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of the commission, Barr. Bassey Dan-Abia said that the commissioning of the project was part of the board’s resolution to complete all ongoing projects.
He said that during the inauguration of the current that they made a promise to complete all ongoing projects, adding that the hostel accommodation will go a long way in addressing accommodation problems experienced by the students of the institution.
Gov. Ikpeazu, in his speech said that it was symbolic that NDDC executed such project , and beckoned them to continue in that part. He said that Abia state government will join hands with the commission in lifting the South East region. The governor urged the host community to remain peaceful to ensure that the conviviality required to groom the students is attained.
