The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, a Fulani socio-cultural association has called on the Federal Government to curtail the existence of illegal cattle markets in the country. National Secretary of the association, Engr. Saleh Alhassan Kubuh made the call yesterday during his meeting with Fulani leaders at their national headquarters in Nasarawa State.
He said the existence of illegal cattle markets contributed to the raised of cattle rustlers across the country, adding that if the government did not regulate it, the Fulani pastoralist would continue to face loses every day.
Kubuh called on the security agencies to monitor the cattle markets in order to identify the existence of illegal ones and deal with those robbers that are stealing the Fulani cattle.
The secretary also called on President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari to direct his change toward the activities of these cattle rustlers for better Nigeria. He appealed to Fulani herdsmen to always obey the law and shun any act that will create crisis, because they are peace loving people.
