Missing 3-Years Old Found On Prayer Mountain in Ilorin

A three years old girl, Fatiah Opeyemi, declared missing about 45 days ago has been found at a prayer mountain popularly known as ‘Ori-oke Basin mountain, Ilorin the Kwara State Capital

The minor was allegedly found sojourning with a 70 years old woman who claimed that the girl was her granddaughter.

Our correspondents gathered that upon investigations, the octogenarian woman first claimed that the girl came to sojourn with her as grandchild.

The Septuagenarian whose name was yet to be disclosed for security reasons later confessed that the girl was found wandering aimlessly around when she picked her and employed the minor for alms begging.

She said that she has been using proceeds from the alms collected to feed and clothe the missing child in order not let nurse sense of missing home and her parents.

The girl, according to investigation was declared missing by her parents who resides at old Shao garage (Motor park) ,Ilorin on March 25.

After an endless search, her parents were said to have resorted to prayers to seek God’s intervention.

Our Correspondent further gathered that in the process, the father of the girl, was said to have approached a man of God at the popular prayer mountain known as Ori-Oke,located at the Basin area, Ilorin.

The prayer mountain was noted for years to be a safe haven for people seeking spiritual solutions to their problems.

It was gathered that Opeyemi’s grandfather ,Mall am Isa, went to the same Ori-Oke to worship when he sighted the 70 year old woman allegedly holding the missing girl hands.

Mallam Isa was said to have quickly alerted the man of God in charge of the Centre that he had seen his missing grandchild in possession of an unknown person.

Our Correspondent gathered that the septuagenarian was consequently accosted but resisted apprehension claiming that the missing child she was holding was her grandchild.

The situation according eye witness, further led to hot argument following which the matter was reported to the Police at Basin divisional police station, Ilorin.

When contacted on telephone, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO),Kwara State Police Command, ASP Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident.

He said the girl had been reunited with her family while the old woman was still being held as investigations still continue on the matter.END
