A traditional in Imala community situated in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Adelani Olabode, has revealed that over one million of his subjects and indigenes are resident in Benin Republic.
Oba Olabode who also oversees about 80 suburbs in his jurisdiction made this known to newsmen in his palace during an interview in preparatory to his 10th year coronation, scheduled to kick off on Saturday in Imala town and suburbs which are few kilometers to the neighbouring Republic of Benin..
The royal father, however, passionately appealed to them,(subjects) on the need to start coming home, as a way to contribute their quota positively ,to the development growth of the communities, with assurance of conducive atmosphere in place.
The Omola of Imala explained that, Imala is a foremost settlement in the local government, adding that, they are not minority as being speculated in some quarters, just as also informed that, there is no love lost between his subjects and other residents and indigenes of the local government.
‘Imala, known as Egbado is a foremost settlement in Abeokuta North Local Government, and what binds us together with the Egbas is love, and there is no love lost.
We are not minority, we are together’, the traditional ruler emphasized The monarch, while further speaking called for creation of new local government in the state, in which Imala and adjourn communities would be beneficiaries, stressing the council creation has been due for a long time.
On the 10th year anniversary of his coronation, the traditional ruler disclosed that, the Alaafin Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi would be leading other Yoruba traditional rulers to the event, while Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun will also lead many other governors to the ceremony, among other dignatories.
