Lalong Appeals To Jos, Bukuru Residents For Patience

Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State has appealed to residents and particularly those living in Jos and Bukuru Metropolis to bear with his government as efforts were being intensified to address the difficulties encountered because of the rains.

This was contained in a message by the Office of the Director, Press & Public Affairs, Mr Samuel Emmanuel Nanle.

The statement said the governor is aware of the challenges faced by motorists within the state, especially the uncompleted roads within Jos-Bukuru Metropolis. The governor further assured all citizens that the situation would be remedied immediately to ameliorate the difficulties faced.

The governor further assured that the Transition Committee consultation with contractors would be intensified to ensure that a common understanding was reached with government to facilitate their immediate mobilization to site for the continuation of the road projects which were suspended.

In furtherance to the above and in other to kick start his policy of sustainable environment and urban governance, Lalong enjoined all citizens to ensure good sanitation in their neighbourhood.

The governor also directed the Ad-hoc Committee on evacuation of refuse as constituted within the first week of his assumption of office to clear all heaps of refuse within Jos-Bukuru Metropolis within the next seven days and to sustain same within the next one month until the Statutory Agencies of government assume their full responsibility.
