Lagos Joins Others To Celebrate World Environment Day

Lagos State Government will this Friday join the rest of the World to mark the 2015 World Environment Day with the theme: ‘’Seven Billion dreams, One Planet. Consume With Care’’ According to a statement by the Ministry of the Environment that was made available to The UNION, the World Environment Day would be marked simultaneously in the five Divisions of the state :Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe.

It statement also added that Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode is expected as Special Guest of Honour at the Ikeja Division event which would hold at the Blue Roof, LTV 8, Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja. While the Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule will be standing in for the Governor at the Lagos Island Division scheduled to hold at Onikan Stadium, and Senator Oluremi Tinubu will be on stand at Ikorodu Town Hall venue of the Ikorodu Division.

Senator Gbenga Ashafa will represent the Governor at Odo Obara High School, Epe, while the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello will be at Badagry Town Hall, Badagry to represent the Governor. Members of the State House of Assembly, Executive Secretaries of the 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Areas, members of Body of Permanent Secretaries, Market Men and Women, School Children, Environment Ambassadors, among others are also expected at the event.
