Thugs and supporters of Yahaya Bello and Hon James Faleke have flooded the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Secretariat in solidarity of their principals in what appears to be characterised with a lot of violence as the Kogi state supplementary elections draws near.
It will be recalled that over the weekend it was reported that the APC will today officially pick Bello to conclude the Kogi gubernatorial race after the demise of Prince Abubakar Audu, in the elections that was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Indications have also shown that Faleke who was the party’s deputy governor candidate has also shown interest to be the Governor of the state.
The violence that ensued was characterised with the exchange of sticks and stones by both supporters of Bello and Faleke which the police had a hard time resolving.
Our correspondent learns that both Bello and Faleke are in a meeting with the leadership of the APC to resolve who becomes the gubernatorial candidate ahead of the supplementary elections this saturday.
