One of the leaders of the All Progressive Congress, (APC), from Kogi central, Tom Ohikere has expressed optimism that Alhaji Yahaya Bello, a governorship aspirant from the zone remains the best man for the job. Speaking with journalists yesterday in Lokoja, Ohikere stressed the need for each of the three zones that constitute Kogi state to come forward with their best to enhance robust negotiation.
Ohikere said he is confident that Bello can turn around the fortunes of the state and provide the needed leadership which he said was currently lacking in the state. He maintained that Bello popularly call Fair Plus, has very good track record of achievements both in his public and private businesses, noting that if he is given the opportunity, kogi state will be transformed tremendously. “Bello has excelled in both his public and private businesses.
I have no doubt in my mind that he is the best for our people for now for the position of governor. I am confident that given his track record of achievements, he is capable of transforming the state” he maintained He regretted that Kogi state has not made any meaningful progress since its creation in 1991, noting that except the present leaderships are changed; the state will continue to retrogress. According to him, Bello in his private life has contributed positively to his community, through progressive youths and women development.
