Reprieve came the way of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu o Abia state as Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday ordered the maintenance of status quo pending the conclusion of matters in courts.
Justice Abang made the order Monday while adjourning hearing in Ikpeazu’s application for stay of execution of his earlier judgment to Thursday.
Justice Abang also said that the enrollment order he gave to Ogah was not an enforcement order.
He also adjourned hearing on Ogah’s application seeking to vacate an order by Justice Chibuzo Ahuchaogu of Abia State High Court, that restrained the Chief Judge of Abia State from swearing in him in as governor of Abia State, to Thursday.
Meanwhile, a Federal high court sitting in Owerri, has reserved ruling for Friday on a suit filed by Mr. Friday Nwosu challenging Ikpeazu’s eligibility to contest for the office.
