Contrary to insinuations in some quarters that Dr. GoodLuck Jonathan performed below expectation as president of the federal republic of Nigeria , some Nigerians are equally of the opinion that the Jonathan administration did not fail Nigerians .
One of such Nigerians who applauded the efforts of former president GoodLuck Jonathan in stabilizing the nation’s economy was Hon . Kingsley Chukwuma Iruba who represents Nnewi- South Constituency 1 in the Anambra State House of Assembly.
Iruba who spoke with The UNION at Paul University Awka said without equivocation that Jonathan did not fail Nigerians.
He said that, that an individual lost an election does not imply he failed in office adding that the out-gone president proved his mettle in the areas of agriculture, transportation, to mention just a few .
The lawmaker therefore suggested that the Buhari administration should anchor its governance on job creation , agriculture , and power, so as to revive the industries in the country .
According to him , Nigeria has a foundational problem and that the Gen. Mohammadu Buhari administration cannot fix these problems in a hurry even though he equally took cognizance of the fact that the Jonathan government tried its best possible to fix Nigeria’s economic problems .
Iruba who quoted Gen. Buhari to have said in one of his numerous press interviews that “ Nigerians should not expect miracles from him … “ explained further that Jonathan’s successor indirectly assured Nigerians that all his campaign promises may not be fulfilled having giving the electorate high hopes stressing that Nigerians should not expect Gen.
Buhari’s government to embark on fire-brigade approach to address the nation’s socio-economic anomalies.
