Hon. Jibrin Bags180 Legislative Days suspension

Former Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation and self-acclaimed anti-corruption crusader, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, was Wednesday suspended by the House for 180 legislative days.

Jibrin was also barred from holding any position of responsibility in the House for the rest of the eighth National Assembly.

The Committee on Ethics and Privileges which handed down the suspension order, also directed that he tenders a written apology to the House for his actions.

The Committee had investigated allegations of breach of privileges of the House and its members by Jibrin.

Chairman of the Committee, Nicolas Ossai, who presented its findings and recommendations, said the Committee found all the allegations against Jibrin to be lies.

Jibrin had refused to appear before the Committee to defend allegations against him even after the committee had summoned him to do so.
