Group Makes Case For Nigeria’s Unity

Paul Efiong

A paramilitary group, the United Nigeria Chaplaincy (UNC), says it has been working tirelessly around the nooks and crannies of the country canvassing for peace and the indivisibility of the country.

The International Commandant General of UNC and the founder, Professor Jide Josiah Jide, who explained his organisation’s consistent efforts to ensuring lasting peace in the country said his men are on ground in all the states of the federation.

Professor Jide, while playing host to board members of his establishment who visited him for a crucial national meeting in Abuja, disclosed that they also work closely with judiciary to ensure quick dispensation of justice to all in order to decongest Nigeria prisons.

On whether Nigeria will divide or not, he expressed the hope that with divine intervention the country would continue to wax stronger overcoming all her present economic woes.

He further appealed to the Senate leadership for speedy passage of his organisation Bill now before it, emphasising that once the Bill is passed into law with full legal backing for them to operate, most crises rocking Nigeria in terms of security will be a thing of the past.
