The state government has concluded arrangements to employ no fewer than 1500 primary school teachers. The teachers are expected to have a minimum of National Certificate in Education(NCE).
The Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr Nzemeka Olisa made this known to newsmen in his office in Awka yesterday. He said the employment of teachers was necessitated by the retirement of about 600 teachers in the state school system.
The education boss also said that the board had promoted no fewer than 4000 teachers under its employ recently. He said 87 of such teachers were promoted from grade level 15 to 16 ,thereby according them the status of directors.
